  What's New:

The EVRPD is proud to announce the Stanley Skate Park is now named Lawson Skate Park, in dedication of Barry Lawson who ran the Youth Center since its inception from 1995-2010.  There is a new beautiful sign designed and created by Barry’s son, Denali Lawson, Travis Blair, and Casey Maes, standing in the Lawson Skate Park yard.  Thank you Denali, Travis, and Casey for your wonderful work!

NEW!!!  The Youth Center is boasting it’s brand new, Music Center!!!  With money raised from the Youth Center Benefit Concert held at The Rock Inn last February, we have bought an array of awesome musical equipment for the kids to play with and learn on.  The Music Center includes:  1 bass guitar, 1 electric guitar, 1 acoustic guitar, 1 conga drum set, 1 bongo set, 1 electric drum set, 1 keyboard, 2 mini amps, a Peavey portable PA system that includes 2 speakers on stands and a 4-channel receiver,  2 microphones with stands, and one triangle!  The best part is that any student in 6th-12th grade can stop in the Youth Center anytime after school from 3-6pm and play these instruments!  Students will be required to take a 10 minute “Music Instrument Guidelines Class” before being able to handle any of the musical instruments, which will be stored in a separate locked storage unit.  These classes will be offered at the Youth Center and they will be taught how to properly handle each instrument, how to sign up to use them, and what to do if something breaks.

The Youth Center has brand new video surveillance system installed, which has 4 cameras and an infrared light to record during after hours!  Thank you to the many donations received to make it possible to make the Youth Center a safer place for teens to come too!

Along with these new features, the Youth Center will also offer jewelry making classes, in which students can make bracelets, necklaces, and earrings with a new collection of awesome beads that were purchased with the grant received from the Rotary Club of Estes Park.  Keep your eye on the Youth Center calendar at your school to see when these will be offered.  Bring a friend and we hope to see you there!

The Youth Center plays music from all your favorite bands on the Logitech "Squeezebox" Touch!!!  Come check out the 4,3" color, touch-screen which provides you with unlimited music from across the world!  Stream music from a computer, your personal music player, the best subscription music services; such as Pandora, Rhapsody, stream from the internet, or listen to any radio station anywhere!  Whether it's the latest hip-hop music, techno, talk show, or sports radio, come pick the right station for you!

This summer, the Youth Center also received a face lift to the exterior.  New trim was painted and added to the side of the 16 year old building, giving it a nice look.

YC Benefit Concert T-shirts are available for sale at the YC for $15.  All proceeds will go to the YC!!!

What is C.I.R.C.L.E?

C.I.R.C.L.E. is a weekly question used to help open dialogue amongst peers or students and adults. The question might be trivial and the first one to answer correctly is the winner or it may be an open question for anyone.  Stop by the Youth Center with your answers to win a prize! There is one rule:  You may not use the internet or your parents to help answer the question.  Please be fair and honest.  And, as always, HAVE FUN!!!
